20KM OF BRUSSELS - FAQ

registrations

What does the €45 cover?

The €45 registration fee covers the following costs:

  • Registration for the 20kms: €30
  • Tshirt: €10
  • The stand and on-site services (drinks, cloakroom, snacks, etc.)

Registration fees are not considered to be a donation and therefore do not qualify for a tax certificate.

The cost to MSF per person is around €67 per participant. That's why we're asking you to create a fundraising page so that the event will enable us to continue our missions.

Will I receive a tax certificate?

As described above, the €45 registration fee covers only the cost of a service. This amount will not be considered as a donation and does not give entitlement to a tax certificate.

What happens in the event of injury or cancellation?

In the event of injury or inability to run, we will try to arrange for you to be replaced by someone on the waiting list.
Under no circumstances will the registration fee be refunded.

Why set a race time? Which starting box will I be allocated?

The race time is used to tell the organisers your cruising speed so that they can allocate you the best starting box.

The best runners will be in box 1 and the slowest in box 6. The walkers will be in box 7.

In 2024, here is the breakdown of registrants by box (for information only):

  • Elite box: 300 riders -
  • Box 1: 5,700 runners - timing between 1h and 1h40
  • Box 2: 6,000 runners - timing between 1h40 and 1h50
  • Box 3: 8000 runners - timing between 1h50 and 2h00
  • Box 4: 8,000 runners - timing between 2.00 and 2.15 hours
  • Box 5: 6,000 runners - timing between 2h15 and 2h59
  • Box 6: 6,000 walkers - timing from 3.00 am

Is it possible to register as a walker?

Once again this year, you can register as a walker. Please indicate your "walker" category on the registration form and include at least 3 hours in your walking time.

What size should I choose for my T-shirt?

T-shirts are ordered according to gender and size.

In the event of an error, we may make an exchange on the same day, subject to stock availability.

We recommend that you choose a larger size, as sportswear generally runs smaller than normal clothing.

I would like to register a company (group of people/employees). What do I need to do?

It is entirely possible to register members of your company as MSF runners. In this case, an invoice can be sent to you for all the members of your company at a rate of €45 per person (incl. VAT).

To be able to send you an invoice, we naturally need your contact details:
-    Company name
-    Address - street + number
-    Zip code + town
-    Company number / VAT number

So that your employees don't have to pay the required amount when they register, we need to create a personalised registration form. Once the link has been created, it will be sent to you for internal communication.

Please do not hesitate to contact us at 20km@msf.be so that we can take the necessary steps.
In addition, we can create a ‘collective’ fundraising page for all your employees so that you can support our actions together. A competition is organized for the biggest corporate fundraiser.

practical details

Will race numbers be sent by post?

For safety reasons, and because no runners/walkers are allowed without a race number, race numbers have not been sent by post since last year.

You can pick up your race number at MSF headquarters, Rue de l'Arbre Bénit 46, 1050 Ixelles, as soon as we receive it OR on race day at the MSF stand, from 8am.

When will I receive my T-shirt?

As soon as we receive your order for T-shirts, they will be:

  • Sent by post (for those who have chosen to do so). Please note that we only send T-shirts to addresses in Belgium.
  • To be collected from MSF headquarters with your race number, about ten days before the race.

For runners registered through their employer/company, T-shirts will be provided according to the specific organization of their company.

What will my starting box be?

Your start box depends on the timing you indicated when you registered. The race organisers classify participants by duration and group together those with the same cruising speed.

Your box will be sent to you as soon as it is confirmed by the organisers and at the latest when we receive your number.

crowdfunding

Why do I need to raise €50 on top of the registration fee?

As mentioned above, the registration fee covers only part of the actual costs incurred by MSF in organising our team for the 20kms of Brussels.

In order to make this event attractive, appealing and above all profitable for our organisation, it is important to be able to count on all the participants. Your participation increases our visibility and shows your commitment to sport. Your fundraising page will help us to raise the funds we need to continue our missions around the world.

I haven't managed to raise €50 on my fundraising page. Can I still run?

Of course, we won't stop you from running. But it's important that we can count on your support, and that of those close to you.

How can I support MSF if I'm not taking part in the 20kms?

You can, of course, support a participant by coming along on the day to cheer them on, but also beforehand by supporting them financially and sponsoring them on their fundraising page. You can find all the fundraising pages here.
